Qatar Accuses Netanyahu of “State Terrorism” as Leaders Rally in Doha

Qatar has fiercely condemned a recent Israeli strike on its soil as an act of “state terrorism,” an accusation that is set to be echoed at an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders in Doha. The gathering is a direct consequence of the attack and subsequent threats by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which have been widely perceived as aggressive and destabilizing.
The charge of state terrorism stems from the September 9th military operation in Doha, where an Israeli strike killed five Hamas members and a Qatari security agent. Qatar’s government has accused Netanyahu of deliberately undermining peace efforts for political gain, a sentiment shared by many in the region who are now assembling to offer their unequivocal support.
Netanyahu has remained unyielding, demanding Qatar either hand over Hamas officials or face Israel’s military might. This ultimatum has backfired, galvanizing a united front among Gulf nations and the wider Islamic world. The UAE, for instance, has decried Netanyahu’s comments as “hostile,” indicating a serious rift with its new diplomatic partner.
The Doha summit is expected to formalize this condemnation, with a draft resolution likely to censure Israel’s actions. By framing the attack as state-sponsored terrorism, Qatar and its allies are elevating the issue beyond a mere diplomatic dispute, challenging the very legitimacy of Israel’s extra-territorial military operations in the complex regional arena.
