In a solemn ceremony in Hanoi, Vietnam’s highest-ranking Party and State officials gathered to pay homage to the country’s fallen heroes and to commemorate President Hồ Chí Minh. This event marked the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, a significant occasion dedicated to honoring those who laid down their lives for Vietnam’s independence.
Led by Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, and National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn, the delegation laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs. Following this, they paid respects to President Hồ Chí Minh at his mausoleum. The leaders paused for a moment of silence to remember the sacrifices made by countless individuals who fought for the nation’s freedom.
During the event, officials reiterated Vietnam’s unwavering commitment to supporting war veterans, the families of martyrs, and those who played pivotal roles in the revolutionary struggle. Also highlighted was the ongoing national “500-day campaign,” aimed at locating, recovering, and identifying the remains of soldiers who remain missing.
