Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson has successfully advanced to the men’s 100m semi-finals at the Asian Games, scheduled to take place in Aichi-Nagoya in 2026. Boonson achieved this feat by clinching victory in his qualifying heat with an impressive time of 9.95 seconds at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Japan.
In the women’s category, Thai athletes also showed remarkable performance. Jirapat Khanonta secured her place in the semi-finals by winning her heat with a personal-best time of 11.45 seconds. Another Thai sprinter, Sukanda Petraksa, will join Khanonta in the semi-finals after finishing third in her heat with a time of 11.54 seconds.
The competition is set to continue with the women’s 100m semi-finals scheduled for September 25. The men’s semi-finals will follow later the same day, promising more thrilling performances from the athletes.
