Vietnam’s Prime Minister Bolsters Strategic Partnership with Russia in Successful Visit

Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng has concluded a three-day official visit to Russia, returning to Hanoi with strengthened ties and expanded cooperation between the two nations. The visit was strategically timed to coincide with the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit, celebrating 35 years of relations between ASEAN and Russia.

In Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng participated in crucial summit sessions and business forums. He also engaged in high-level meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other regional leaders. The discussions centered around bolstering collaboration in various sectors, including investment, energy, trade, technology, and industrial development, signaling a mutual interest in advancing these areas.

The Vietnamese delegation took significant steps to deepen their engagement with major Russian organizations and businesses during the visit. This included witnessing the signing of cooperation agreements and celebrating the launch of new direct flight routes between Vietnam and Russia, which is expected to facilitate greater connectivity and economic interaction.

The visit underscored Vietnam’s commitment to enhancing the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership and furthering its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia. Both countries expressed a shared dedication to implementing measures that would deepen their cooperation, aiming for more tangible outcomes that support long-term economic growth and bilateral development.
